Jan-L. Is an abstract expressive artist, passionate about producing portraits.  Her art celebrates faces, silhouette figures and shadow shapes, while her mixed media constructs combine vivid colors, rhythmic brush strokes and textured collage. 

Jan-L. embeds words within her art, generating a canvas narrative that speaks to her love of language & her speech therapy past.   Her work tends to be spontaneous as well as reflective as she explores a thought, tries to capture an emotion or convey a particular concept in a playful juxtaposition of ephemera, stylized movement & graphic impressions.
