I am a life long painter with a BA in Art from St. Mary's College in Moraga, California. Over fourteen years ago I started weaving after a class at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico. I consider myself an artist whether doing fine art or craft. It is all ART. I am still an artist no matter what materials I work with, its who I am, not what I do.

Artist's Statement

I have been painting all my life no matter what I did for a living. I have sold at open studios, art fairs, to friends, co-op galleries, the gamut.
Walkingquail is my trail name. I am often out on the trails, visiting my animal friends and receiving the blessings of nature. I always come home inspired by color combinations or animal stories I saw out of the corner of my heart.
I also work in my native plant gardens. Here in California we have the most native plants of anywhere on the planet and I believe they are perfect in our yards where they lived wild before we built our houses. No water hogging lawns for me! I am comfortable with the wild.
Fourteen years ago I had the opportunity to take a weaving class at Ghost Ranch in Northern New Mexico. I thought I was just doing some cross training but I got completely hooked on weaving. I now spend much of my time weaving, learning to do a better job. Color and texture, does it get any better than that?
I strive to integrate all these parts of my life into one balanced ethic of harmony.
