Artist's Statement

I am a visual artist working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I discovered my passion for portraying themes of nature in the form of animals, lands, skies and waters many years ago, while attending a children’s outdoor drawing course at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA. As a printmaking student at UCSB, I became enthralled with incorporating color, texture and relief into my etchings, specializing in viscosity printing techniques, always looking for ways to use media to express the spirit within. My fascination and joy in experimentation led me to monotype printing, and ultimately the discovery of luminous and vibrant watercolors and soft pastels. I find joy and inspiration painting at gorgeous outdoor locations to capture the air, the light, the spirit, in plein air paintings.

Looking for the spirit within!
