Growing up in the east coast, I spent many hours drawing the form and branches of grand trees outside my window. I was given my first oil painting set at 12 years old and studied oil painting after school with Alton S. Tobey, an internationally renowned painter and illustrator.

I then studied fine arts for two years at the college level focusing on drawing, oil painting, ceramics and art history. I transferred from the fine arts to study Landscape Architecture, which provided a much larger canvas!

I graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Environmental Design, Landscape Architectural major and a Masters of Architecture. My professional practice specialized in large scale urban design projects for cities, counties and corporate clients. I enjoyed infusing my projects with a unique sense of place.

After retirement from my professional career, I studied watercolor with Leslie Wilson for five years. I then returned to oil painting and studied with Randy Sexton, Leslie Tarzier, Gary Bergren and Shanna Kunz.

I am currently honing my skills painting the quintessential California landscapes with rolling hills, Oak trees, Mt. Diablo and seascapes. I have a deep appreciation for the natural environment, built elements that evoke the memory of time gone by and evoke a sense of place.
