I discovered my passion for portraying nature in the form of animals, landscapes and seascapes many years ago, while attending a children’s outdoor drawing course at Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, CA. Then as a printmaking student at UCSB, I became enthralled with incorporating color, heavy texture and relief into etchings, using viscosity printing techniques. My life of artistic exploration continues with monotype printing, pastel painting, and drawing.
In 2015, I attended a 3 week workshop at the Zea Mays Printmaking Studios in Northampton, MA, acquiring certification in green, non-toxic intaglio printmaking processes. I am excited to bring these life-prolonging techniques to the Walnut Creek Center for Community Arts in Walnut Creek, CA, where I share space, ideas, inspiration, and my new-found knowledge with a group of like-minded printmakers in an Open Studio environment.
I also enjoy painting with the vibrant colors of soft pastels … more unending possibilities to obtain richness and depth in my work!
