I come from a small creative family in Upstate New York. I majored in Fine Arts in New York City at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). In 1988 I discovered, through my Dad, San Francisco, and moved to the west coast. I met my husband through my daytime job at Woolworths. We bought a home in Concord in 1997 and have been residing here since. Now with our teenage daughter.
Artist's Statement
I would describe my art and myself as symbiotic. I am always thinking of pieces to make, paintings to paint and the next cosplay piece to photograph. For me, art is very personal and emotional. I definitely have to be in the right head space to make my creations. I enjoy making unique items from found, unrecyclable, and man-made or natural materials. I have designed and fabricated lights from gourds, vines from single-use coffee cups, a life-sized rideable moose from plywood, and a Moorish hexagon side table. My preferred paint for canvas paintings is oil, but I do work in acrylics. I even make the frames for my paintings.
